SPONDYLUS COLLECTION
Epiphany Designs was the first company in the world to introduce the Spondylus Collection as a high end product to America. Spondylus, which was once considered even more precious than gold, was first exhibited at the JA International Show at the Javitz Center in NYC in July 2005. At that time, two collections, the Marinera and the Tango, were displayed at the Pavilion of New Products. The Tango Collection was sold at an exhibition at the Princeton Club on December 12th, 2006 in NYC to Pennelope Glassmeyer from Connecticut for $500. This final acquisition of Spondylus will ultimately be part of our last collection. The countries, where Spondylus was originally found, have now restricted the use of this shell because of the danger of its extinction. Northern Peru and Ecuador are the only two countries where the beautiful Spondylus still exists.We were very fortunate to produce such fine quality jewelry from this shell and we were equally proud to bring it to this country and introduce it to America.
